DYLAN DOG...plus friends and fiends; this is one comic book I'd dearly love to draw.

This is a page of pencils from quite some time ago...I still like the explosion when the big critter hits the car!

Another BONESAW character design, one of the Talion - NERVE HOOK - this guy was a killer dentist back when he was still human...if you are creating villains it never hurts to cast one as a dentist!

Another character design - from BONESAW this time.
This was a character design drawn for the BLOOD NATION mini-series I created; though I did not draw the book I designed all the major characters and vampires.  This one was a favourite of mine that did not make it into the series...I like to think of him as my 'bondage vampire'!

This is a warm up brush drawing from my sketchbook...yes, this is the sort of image that slithers through my widdle brain on a daily basis.
Here's a spin on the previous cover; I was going for a 1970's Italian horror film poster style with these, I think...channeling a Dario Argento vibe!
Today I am going to be posting a short series of cover roughs for my book BONESAW that used the illustration I put up a couple of days ago...all variations on a theme really; my way of visually thinking out loud.

Pencils for the little girl figure in the cover below.
This was an unused cover illustration for BONESAW but I like the image so much I'm going to use it for another project of mine.

Here's the original black and white art for the cover below.
Continuing with the theme of showing the BLOOD NATION cover designs here is the colour rough for #3 featuriing our villain, THE KHAN. The titles on this cover are misleading as the original artist had left the book and the brilliant JOHN KEANE drew issues 3 and 4.

I'm going to continue posting some older artwork and thought I'd show some of the process of designing a cover...starting with the BLOOD NATION #2 cover I posted a couple of days ago.  This is the first rough version of that cover with a very early version of the WEREAPE.
I tried a version with the WEREAPE in red but thought it was too subtle and decided to keep it black.

I even considered using the series main villain, THE KHAN, instead of the WEREAPE but ultimately chose to go with my little monkey.

This is the black and white art for the cover illo depicting the ferocious WEREAPE!!!
This was my cover design and illustration for #2 of BLOOD NATION a mini-series I created and wrote that came out from Platinum Studios/Image Comics a couple of years ago.
