I know I have not posted anything new for ages but I have been really busy with a new big deal project I'm not allowed to talk about yet...in the meantime -

This is the first page of a strip I'm drawing written by the excellent Paul N. Neal - the strip is called DEATH BE PRAISED and is from a book Paul is putting together with some top comic talent...and me! I'll be appearing in the book alongside Glen Fabry, John McCrea and Steve Pugh so that's pretty heady company right there.

It's not often I post a historical illustration cos' frankly it's not often I get to do them...that said I present the following for your consideration. Not exactly a historical illo...but sort of.

I was asked to produce a promo/concept illo for the classic character - THE SAINT - so here it is.

This is a  new illustration job; a cover for a book called VAMPIRES Vs WEREWOLVES...the client seems to love it so I'm happy.

I did this one about five or six weeks ago and just got around to scanning it in; I had just watched the movie HOUSE OF HORRORS with the brilliant Rondo Hatton and realy wanted to draw a comic book version of it...Hatton has one of those faces I never get tired of drawing.

And here is the last of the 'noir' illustrations; I'm done with these...for now and moving on to something new.

This is all Ted Naifeh's fault…yes Ted, I'm blaming you…in the nicest way possible, that is. Ted seemed to really like the Serial Batman/Joker illos I put up on Facebook…he even suggested I should do a strip in that genre/style. Well…this planted an idea in my empty little head that I just could not be rid of. I knew I did not have time what with deadlines and such to write and draw an entire strip just for fun (as much as I'd like to), but I came up with this concept of "BATMAN: THE LOST SERIAL" - as if one of those old serials from the 1940's had recently been discovered, one never seen before, and with that I thought I could draw a series of illustrations that looked like lobby cards or stills from that serial. So that's the plan, folks; I don't know how often I will be able to post these but I'll try for one a week, each featuring a classic Batman villain…and first up is the RIDDLER. Let me know if you like them.
